WHAT IS B-ROLL?

B-roll is footage separate from A-roll and is intended to be a smooth transition between edits and support the main topic or the current dialogue. B-roll is important for these reasons and it must be consistent with the video itself you cant just add some random clip. You also have to shoot a lot of b-roll, in fact, more than you may need because you may run out and your video will look bland or boring. Lastly, make sure you differentiate  B-roll from A-roll, for example, if you have an interview make sure to record B-roll where the subject is not talking to the camera instead have them to do something related to the current topic.
